One Finger Death Punch 2 was developed by Silver Dollar Games and was released on Steam April 15th, 2019 and is expected to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch in winter 2019. Available now on steam for $7.99 USD and $8.99 CND.
One Finger Death Punch 2 is a fast-paced fighting game which has a very stylistic approach to the combat. The visuals are stunning, and the sound effects are great.
There is no story behind this game; you are just a bad-ass out to administer as much ass whooping in the most stylish way possible. For me this is where the game lets itself down a little. The action gets so intense that you end up focusing on the blue and red bars at the bottom therefore missing most of the great design and awesome backdrops. This is a small complaint though and I am sure the more I play it the better my peripheral vision would get!
This game is a great time killer, but it is very repetitive. Once you have played through the first 15 or so levels you have seen everything. It then becomes rinse and repeat. The weapon variations and perks you can earn the more you play (earned faster the fewer misses you get) each level try to stem this a bit, but I found that after an hour I was getting bored.
Overall though I would recommend this game if you have a short period of time to kill. Playing this on a mobile would be amazing. Perfect for killing time on those commutes! The developer states themselves the single player experience is “…designed for short bursts of entertainment. Play while waiting for online matches in other games to start, or just use it as a pallet cleanser between genres.” Overall I’d rate this game as Playable.
