Swag and Sorcery is being developed by Uroboros Games and produced by Lazy Bear Games. Available on Steam for $12.99 USD and $14.49 CND.
Swag and Sorcery is a new type of idle game with a spin on being an RPG. It pushes the boundaries of the common idle games mostly found on mobile devices by integrating the RPG element. The tutorial helps get you started off by teaching you the basics of how to create items, upgrade buildings, and leveling up your adventures. It adds a fun quirk to it with the "swag" items that you can obtain. Between the swag items, visuals, music, and dialogue it makes the game very enjoyable and quite funny when the narrator and black cat banter back and forth.
With Idle games, it is a lot of waiting around. So this game is great to play while doing chores around the house or watching a show. (Literally playing while I write this review) But idles aren't for everyone. I personally enjoy idle games as I have a lot of spare time. But the one flaw with idle games is they become very time consuming and can take quite some time to progress. This one is no different. After the first hour or two of playing doing basic tasks like crafting and dungeon runs can take up to about 5-8 minutes, and that's just after the first couple hours. There is a main "quest line" to follow but with no real significance and continuation as to a plot. At the end of it all, it is an Indie-RPG that you will have to baby for the first couple hours then it just becomes your standard idle based game. I hope they update it in the future adding new elements of the RPG genre but as of this review, I haven't found anything on future updates planned outside of just adding in new item recipes.
I'll give it a First-Class rating as it adds a fun twist to idle games but in the end, it just reverts to being an idle clicker game.
